Looking for assistance. I have a 20x40 40k gallon chlorine pool and newly refinished with Ecofinish.I’m constantly battling low PH and having to raise it daily with Soda Ash. I’m using 8 trichlor tabs until they are dissolved which is about every 4 days. According to Pool Math these tabs lower the PH by 1 so I’m assuming they are causing the low PH.
Any suggestions on how else i should chlorinate or a better way to raise PH or if this is normal with a chlorine pool using tabs? I know i may end up having a CYA issue as well by adding these tabs.
I know i can add liquid chlorine but we are in the south so we’d have to add a crazy amount daily.
Should I just continue doing what I’m doing and adding soda ash to raise PH almost daily. Or maybe I should I overshoot the soda ash to have PH closer to 8 and let it come down to ideal range that way?
Numbers from today: (this is with adding Soda Ash daily to raise PH to 7.4)
