Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

In Maryland, Weis Markets has the Austin's Pool Tech shock, 12.5%, for $5.49/gallon. About 20 cents/gallon cheaper than a gallon of 10% at the Walmart in the same town. I added some to my pool and checked the results, and they were exactly as expected.

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

Same for me to get that price. I'm going to try to get by another year with my Polaris 9550. I found a local facebook sale of one that needed a new motor for $50 that has the all the parts I need in good shape so I'm going to go that way this season and see how the longevity of the Aiper holds up.

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

Thanks! I had seen the reviews about it getting stuck in the deep end and also saw a Q/A on amazon where the question was from someone that had a pool with shallow and deep end and would the robot work; the seller answered that it only worked with a flat floor! I was surprised and thought...

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

This graphic from Aiper's website says "flat floor". Does anyone on this thread have a deep end (like 8-9 feet) and shallow and does the robot do the slopes involved with no problem? Reading other reviews here and there, some people say the robot never gets out of the deep end once it is in...

LED Bubbler alternative - Vinyl Liner sun shelf

The other thread you refer to I believe is talking about an old model of the Pentair bubblers, not their current version. Your solution sounds fine, but I don't see where Pentair is discontinuing their current line of bubblers (Colorvision).

Why do you say that Pentair is discontinuing LED bubblers?

    Bad knees and skimmer baskets....

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G3WY1EY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Had mine for years, kept outside all the time, and still looks brand new. Also allows you to "twirl" the skimmer basket as you are pulling it out to suck all the debris over the basket opening. And the...

    Outdoor rated showers

I don't know how relevant this is to you, given your location, but I'll pass along a link to the shower we bought. Our poolhouse builder installed it. (The plumbing supply catalog the builder gave us to pick fixtures from had almost nothing under outdoor shower except for a freestanding one...

    Polaris 9650IQ - Another error 10

I solved my last error 10 on my polaris robot (basically same one as yours) as per the loose wire fix shown about two minutes into this video. It only took about ten minutes. I had not even realized this bit of the cord could be taken apart.

    Pool Depth for Diving Board

Water depth. Are you looking at the ANSI for residential inground swimming pools? It clearly shows water depth https://issuu.com/thephta/docs/apsp-5-reaffirmed-6-6-2022-read-only-protect

    SLAM progress after a week

I’m curious - you are heading for what will be a two week slam with lots of effort and chlorine. With only a 4000 gallon pool, why not just almost completely drain and refill in the first place? I guess with vinyl you cant drain 100% but the maximum you can anyway.

Any advice on handrails for inground pool?

If you follow Jim's Amazon link in post 11 and then read the first review by "CJS", they used the Saftron ladder with the mounting bases but a stronger anchor solution so they can (as it reads to me) be repeatedly removed for the winter cover. A copy/paste of the relevant part, but I've no idea...

    Removing Iron

Just FYI in case you want to do some more reading! I did a post (#19 in the linked thread) about my experience removing iron https://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/help-iron-stains-from-what.252905/post-2214206 And that whole thread is about iron removal.

    Pool greenhorn needs guidance

In addition to the above responses, your side profile drawing shows 8'6" depth from the deep end wall extending out for 10 feet. Don't just measure at the deepest point. Measure all points in accordance with your profile drawing and see if you have the pool that is represented.

    Pool greenhorn needs guidance

If you click on the link in post 157, then it goes straight to the page on construction tolerances allowed for residential swimming pools. +/- 3 inches for length, width, depth.

    Pool greenhorn needs guidance

Regardless of whether your diving board is still ok or not, the standard for residential pool construction tolerances is +/- 3 inches for depth, and, if your measurements prove to be correct, your builder is way off that. You should still hold him accountable for that.

    Pool greenhorn needs guidance

Look for the SR Smith documentation online or the manual that came with your board. I THINK (but don't take my word for it!) that for your Type 2 pool (max depth of 7.5 feet) with an 8' board then the top of the board cannot be more than 20" above the water. And you can see from the standard...

    Pool greenhorn needs guidance

What exactly does your contract say about depths? Did you get a side-view depth profile drawing as part of the contract that is very clear on water depths at various points of the pool? Check section 5 of the standard for swimming pools to see if you still have a diving pool or not...

Having a pool built and need advice

Recommend this; had mine for four seasons, kept outside, and still like new. It's better than similar products that attach onto the skimmer permanently because then the creepy crawlies just sit on those handles, and you have the same problem as now...

Help with Polaris 9550 Sport: ERROR 10 SOLVED!

For anyone else reading this thread, this video shows another thing to try that allowed me to fix my 9550 error 10 problem in just a few minutes. My fix was the loose wire he talks about that starts about 2 minutes into the video. Big money saver for me!

    2023 Tampa New Pool Build

If you have the room, you could have the bench bumped outside the perimeter rather than being inside it. Then you get a your interior space for swimming but still have a nice place to sit and hang out or an easy way out of the pool. I would not go with a ladder, though.

How not to make a Skimmer Basket grabber pole.

Thank you, Jim, for the laugh :-) The type of mistake we've all made a million times! But, as an aside, for not very much money forego the cobbled together homemade gadgets for one that does the job properly. This one -- has a hook on one end for pulling the skimmer lid off/putting it back...

    Sports Pool Slope / Dimensions

So everyone within five feet of the net on either side would be in water that is 5' to 5'6" deep. That seems too deep for volleyball to me. I have a volleyball net but it is contained within the shallow end area that is between 3'9" to just over 4' deep. We normally have two rows of people on...
