Of our 8 or so peach trees, only 1, the protected one, produced any peaches in quantity. And boy did it produce. I think there are 300 peaches on the tree. So what do I do with 300 peaches?

I just picked about 50 in 10 minutes and gave my neighbor 10 or so. Gonna harvest them today and tomorrow so the bugs and squirrels don't get them.

Fill a Mason Jar with firm cut-up peaches. Cover with whisky or your favorite moonshine. Put the lid on and let sit for a few days.

Enjoy the peaches with some ice cream

Love fresh fruit.

We have a very sad fig tree that has, unfortunately, contracted a fungal rust infection. It produces big beautiful leaves and fruit but then it all turns brown and dies off. Can’t do much about it as the soil is contaminated with the fungal pathogen. Sometimes spraying copper fungicide helps but it’s hit or miss every year with the severity of the infection. If we do manage to get some figs to hold on, the bats get to them before they ever get ripe enough to eat. I think I’ve eaten one fig off that tree in the 6 years it’s been around.

Congrats on the haul!! Hopefully you can preserve most of it so that you can enjoy it all winter long. I’m sensing your Thanksgiving gatherings this year will be featuring a few fresh peach cobblers

Gosh, those look wonderful! I only live a few minutes from you and would love a fruit tree but haven't actually done any research yet! What type of peach tree is it?

This is a basic dwarf peach from home Depot. 15 feet max will have peaches the first year you have it. Get it this year if you can find one. If not, as early as possible next spring. We've had this 3 years now.

👆 this might explain some of the weird forum issues lately 🤔

Assuming an average volume of 10.3 cubic inches per peach and a packing density of 63.5%, it would take about 412,997 peaches to fill your 29,000 gallon pool with peaches or assuming a 100% packing density, it would take 650,388 peaches to fill your pool with peaches, so you should have enough if you want to do that.

Are assuming cubic or hexagonal close-packing ??
