What is the best way to drain some water from the pool?

Good morning. We have been getting a lot of rain in southwest Florida this year. In our saltwater pool, we have a gravity system that lets water out slowly into the yard. I'd prefer letting some water out through the filter or pump via a garden hose to the street. There are 2 outlets at the bottom of our pump and an outlet at the bottom of our filter. Which is better for this purpose? What size hose adapter do I need? Thank you.

Show some pictures of the equipment pad with pump, filter and plumbing. You may or may not have some plumbing for external draining of the pool.

The 2 small outs at the pump are for draining only the pump and the outlet at bottom of the filter is only for draining the filter. You would drain the filter before you disassemble it for cleaning. These are NOT for draining the pool.

I recently ran mine with the bottom drain open figuring I could wash out the accumulated and it unseated the filters. Of course it took a couple weeks to realize the pool was getting dirty. YMMV.

A much better option is to install a 3 way valve between the pump and filter and then you can run any size hose you want out to.the street. (Larger is quicker, but the flood zone may not be able to handle it)

Thanks for photo. On one of the vertical pipes between the pump and the filter you could cut and install a 3 way valve then run that new opening to a flexible hose to drain the pool.

Note the hose bib on the output of the pump. I thought that was pretty much standard but I guess not. I used this to drain.
