What did you do to your pool today?

Got a low salt indicator on my SWG. Added two bags of salt. Inspected the cell and there was a bunch of scaling. Picked off most of it with a bbq skewer (my answer for everything).

A little concerned about the scaling even with a negative CSI. Going to drop my TA to 60. Then I am going to dump 50lbs of boric acid in the pool.

I added a 10 lb bucket of calcium chloride to the pool yesterday. CH went from 150 ppm to 200 ppm. FC now at 8.5 ppm.

I did an early season mistake today. I turned on the natural gas heater and walked away. When I came back a few hours later, I noticed it wasn't running. I had forgotten to open the gas line for the season. Now that it's been running for a few hours, the water temperature has gone from 70F to 78F.

Getting itchy to open it.
The first half of the big trees are popping here. Now. Tulips have always lost their mind and come up in a couple inches of snow, then the cherry blossoms are your 2 min warning and BOOM. If everything else is growing, it's capable of growing in the pool also.

Pretty much everything is popping here. There’s an abundance of trees here with no hope of escaping seeds and pollen. I hope we’re done with frost. Had to cover vegetation last week. Luckily, the asparagus, sage, oregano, and garlic were unscathed. Planted radishes over the weekend. Just getting itchy for everything. 😉

I dont know just seemed like a good amount. And now I dont have to store the bucket anymore.
Be sure to input that value into poolmath so it adjusts your acid doses properly. It is really not advised to go above 50ppm borates for various reasons- unnecessary expense mainly, along with concerns of pets that regularly drink pool water.

If 30-50 is good, the 77 I put in must be amazing!!!!. If it keeps my pH more stable more than worth the price, especially if I avoid scaling on the cell. My dog is soooo afraid of the pool, not worried about her drinking from it. And she always has a nice bowl of water on the deck.

Besides the pool looks extra sparkly now. It is probably a placebo effect, but who does not love a great placebo?
