Water in bubbler j-box.

Hello everyone :)

Hoping someone can help as I noticed water coming out the transformer and when I open the j box it appears water is coming up when the bubbler is on.

The j box is about 2 ft above water level.

When I turn on the light it flickers so I'm assuming the light needs to be replaced. Could anything else be causing this other than the bubbler light? My thought is to get a new bubbler light and replace it along with the new j box as this one looks rough.

Any thoughts on if that should stop the issue or is there anything else I should look into?

Thanks as I appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks for the additional pics. Let's give others a chance to catch up and review your post. While the corrosion in very obvious, I'm not sure how the water could get in there. I'm sure others will reply soon with some constructive thoughts. I'm curious as well. Stand by .....................

Ok thanks.

Takes about 15 minutes with the bubbler on to overflow.

You have a Pentair ColorVision Bubbler with a GloBrite light in it?

How old is your pool and is it still under warranty?

I would call Pentair and discuss the problem with them. Some part of your bubbler or light may not be installed correctly.

If they are no help you may have to get creative in how you loop the light conduit to prevent water from getting to the junction box.

Hi...thanks for the reply.

Pool was built in 2020 by previous owner so will have to check on the warranty.

This started several months ago as I noticed a drip from the transformer. The light has been flickering on and off and I tried it now and won't even turn on.

I'll give Pentair a call and see what they say and post it here for reference in case anyone else has an issue later on.

Thanks again.

You should have an O-ring on the light to prevent water from getting pushed into the conduit.

The bubbler creates pressure that can push water into the conduit where most other lights do not have the pressure.

Thanks...I'll check to see what condition this is in.

I've never messed with this before, so is it okay to open up the bubbler and check with water over the top or should I drain it below the bubbler level first?

Replace the rubber seal and use a rubber cord stopper in the junction box to reduce water intrusion.
