Need help troubleshooting my Hayward Aquarite SWG. The Power and Generating LED lights went out; I examined the circuit board and the thermistor was busted. I replaced the thermistor (have done this three times over the past 7 or 8 years). The lights came back on green, and I thought we were in good shape. A few hours later... now the Power and Generating lights are still green, but the Inspect Cell and Low Salt lights are flashing, one is red and one is orange. I replaced the salt cell 2 years ago with a name brand Aquarite T-cell-15 for 40,000 gallon pool.

Readings:
2400
65
26.0
5.51
100p
-3100
AL-0
r1.55
t-15

I've been reading the Hayward Aquarite SWG Further Reading link, but need some guidance here. Thanks all.

Look in the manual for the sequence to reset the salt number and see if that works for you... you have to turn the unit on, wait for it to click and then momentarily flip to super chlorinate when you see the right salt level (3100ish for you). Check the manual for the exact sequence, I don't have it handy.

also, if you hold the button for 3 seconds it should clear the check salt level - but you might have to do this after you reset the salt number.

Explanation: it seems like the unit thinks you've only got 2400 salt - so the low salt light is on and it's low enough to stop generating... now, I thought it would show the low salt for 2600 or less, and not generate under 2300 (or maybe it's 24 or 25). But the instantaneous salt reading is 3100 which should be fine for it to generate and not show the low salt warning. It gets the instantaneous reading using the 5.51 amp current draw on the cell plates

Thanks for your help. I checked it first thing this morning…the low salt / inspect lights are off and both salt readings are 3100. I didn’t change anything so I am not sure what happened. I will keep an eye on it, and update here as needed.

The further reading link is extremely helpful!

Be sure that the power is completely removed from the SWCG when the pump is not running.

Is the SWCG connected to the Load side of your timer? Assume you have a SS pump (no pump shown in your signature)_.
