Travertine Filler

My travertine is starting to flake after the freezes from last year and this year. I see that some of the coping tiles have some sort of filler in them, is this just non sanded grout and is this the same as what I can get at Home Depot?

I am confused that you talk about travertine filler and then tile grout.

It's probably the epoxy used during sizing and finish stage after quarry. You usually don't notice it because it blends, but can work loose.

This is what i believe i am referring too. I the stone itself is chipping and i was hoping to find what they filled it with when they finished it. Ill see if i can get some pics tomorrow.

There are a variety of fillers made just for travertine.

I think that a sanded grout would also work and you can find a suitable color.
