Recommended hose for PVC with 1 1/4”-1 1/2” connector

I currently need a way to have my backwash flow further away from my walk way. I currently have this at the end of my backwash pipe: Amazon.com.

What do people normally attach to the 1 1/4” opening? Flexible hose?

Please whatever you do get reinforced backwash hose…..the normally listed backwash hose is garbage and will be ruined in a season or two with minimal use. Also marketed as heavy duty lay flat or heavy duty reinforced lay flat discharge hose.

I am reading I am not supposed to backwash towards the street. Is there something that can catch all the de from the backwash pipe or I have to find a way to backwash into my yard?

I had a low area near my filter that I backwashed into then when it dried I scooped it up.

You could plumb in a separation tank. This is common in areas where releasing DE into the storm sewer system is prohibited by law.

Just watch that the bag does not blow off the pipe. As it collects the DE and debris it will clog and the pressure from the pump can caused that.
