Expecting the annual week of winter here in NE Texas and would love some input on our pool prep!

My plan for the 4-5 days of lows in the upper 20s/low 30s/ and highs in the upper 40s is to just run the pumps at night (manually turn on before bed and turn off when the sun hits them) to keep them from freezing. Maybe add some pool noodles to the skimmers? Is it really this simple or am I missing something?

"Closed" the pool in late October by covering after SLAMing. Since then I've tested ph/chlorine a couple of times and made sure the pumps still come on. So far so good.

Photo of mechanicals for reference!

Thanks y'all!

What’s the plan for a power outage? 😉 See the link above.

A thing that document doesn't mention is to figure out a valve setting that makes at least a bit of water pass through each pipe and piece of equipment. Or else blow them out so there's nothing to freeze. For example on mine, deck jets, spa suction, spa bubbler, heater, and the cleaner circuit need attention. Putting each diverter in a half-way position does the trick for me (except the deck jets, and bubbler, which I blow out in the fall). But ymmv.
