If my gauge is showing pressure on recirculate does this mean my gauge is bad? also seems to build pressure quick on filter setting. Pool is crystal clear. Pump & filter were replaced this year

That could be a MPV spider gasket problem.
Does your gauge read 0 when the pump is off?
That is usually a sign of algae clogging the filter. You can have algae with a crystal clear pool.
Do a Overnight Chlorine Loss Test and if you fail follow the SLAM Process

Then the gauge sounds good and I would examine the spider gasket in your MPV.
