Pool Deck Sinking!

Did you use a contractor to do the mud jacking? Or was it a DIY project?

What did it cost?

What materials did you sue for the expansion joint caulking? You do that yourself?

I suspect your deck sunk due to poor compaction and preparation of the soil. Everything sunk evenly with no cracking along the deck. If water coming into the expansion joint eroded the soil causing the sinking I think the deck woudl have sunk unevenly and cracked in places.

I did use a contractor. The mud-jacking was $2300 and the caulking was $1000. The caulk joint is huge I don't think I could have done it for under $1k in materials. I am not sure what they used. It might have been Sikaflex. It was not self-leveling I do know that. It came out thick.

I agree bad ground prep. Only the backside sunk the front did not move at all.
