Hi Jim,Pro,
I have had many Dolphins over the years, but I like this one much better..
New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review
About a month ago I needed a new robot pool cleaner and I contacted Margaret at Marina Pool and Spa. My initial goal was to buy another S200 "style" robot as I have been happy with them so far. Margaret suggested that I might want to look at a new line of robot cleaners that Marina is now...www.google.com
Thanks,
Jim R.
Pro,thank you so much for your quick reply. I was wondering how long you have been using it. Is it as durable as Dolphin models? They tend to last for years. Also, do you keep it in the water all the time, or do you take it out every day after it finishes the job? I read that leaving it in the pool can affect the cleaner's lifespan.
Thank you, Jim.Pro,
I've had my EVO almost two years.. So far so good, but time will tell.. In my opinion it is just a better unit.. Read the review...
The Dolphins that are in the form factor in your pic, tend to last between 3 to 4 years... I would not call that "for years".. The very old Dolphin Diagnostics did last a long time.. Years ago I bought two used ones and used them for 7 or 8 years... The newer design is not at all like the older ones.
Until recently, I had three pools.. At my two rent house pools, the robots stayed in the water 24/7/365 except when the tenants took them out to swim. The robots at my house only go in the water one or two times a week.. I could see no difference between their failure rates.. I don't think leaving them in the water makes any difference at all.
Thanks,
Jim R.
ok, I will do... thanks a lot againPro,
I suggest that you talk with Margaret at Marina Pool and Spa.
She stays up to date on these things...
I have not heard that the EVO discontinued... That said, they change a paint color and call it a new robot...
Thanks,
Jim R.
