Pentair 4000 Series Filter

One way to have the lid sucked down on the lower half of the filter is to have the top half of the lid ready to be put into place then turn on the pump till it fully fills the bottom half of the tank, turn off the pump and place the top half of the filter on the bottom half (the air release valve on the top half must be closed), with the water lowering in the bottom half of the filter it will naturally suck the top half of the filter right onto the bottom half and be tight to the bottom half, hope this helps.

Thank you

After water fills and I turn off the pump. Do I keep the backwash shut or open it up?
