NG heater close to AC unit?

Your builder is not going to be happy. Moving that now requires a full re-plumb of basically everything. Prepare to hear, "We always do it like this and no one ever complains!".

Nah, only the NG line and the PVC legs from the filter to heater input and heater output to the return. Does not effect the pump or any plumbing to the filter.

Update: Pool builder confirmed all specs with Pentair and said it will be corrected this week. We are meeting tomorrow to go over the details of how it will be fixed. We also reached out to our HVAC person and confirmed what they see as best practice/code/etc.

I managed a project that finished the basement to a commercial building. Included in the project was air conditioning the space by installing additional AC units on the roof.

The summer after the project was completed and the building occupied AC units would begin tripping off on the hottest days. After a bunch of investigation it was learned the AC units were too close together and created too much heat in the area causing units to overheat and shutdown.

Make sure your HVAC friend does not place the AC unit too close to the other one. I think there may have been a reason they were spaced apart. Both AC units and gas heaters need space to get cool air to operate properly.

Keep us updated on how it goes.

Regardless of what "might work / should work / will work," if you decide to ignore an owner manual warning, there's a good chance you'll have trouble with your warranty should you ever need it...
