Metallic little balls in my pump basket

They are either from the old zodiac that the PO used or your current vac. They are loose ball bearings. Dump the vacs, get a new one, and they will stop eventually…..The length of time is dependent on how many are stuck in your plumbing at this point. The upside is your pump strainer basket is catching them, so you’re not going to invest in a new impeller.

A density of 11.9 grams per cubic centimeter indicates a very dense substance, comparable to the density of heavy metals like lead, which has a density around 11.3 grams per cubic centimeter.

Stainless steel is about 8 grams per cubic centimeter.

their diameter is about 3.5mm, so their volume (if I'm not wrong) should be 22mm3
- they weigh 0.262g
- so density is about 11900kg/m3
These are difficult measurements to get, so even a tiny error introduces a huge density error.

The diameter is cubed, so the error is also cubed.

If the diameter was 3.97 millimeters, then the density would be about 8 grams per cubic centimeter.

V= πd3/6
