Hey heres the link to my youtube vid:

I have a polaris 360 return side cleaner. And the booster pump is polaris as well
Sounds like bad motor bearings. A 360 should NEVER be powered by a booster pump. It is a non-booster pressure-side cleaner and the internals will be destroyed by the pressure of a booster pump. Also, the 360 feed hose will be damaged if used with a booster.
Do you mean a 380. Polaris made that mistake when they first came out with the 380 by just replacing the feed tube on a 360 to accept a standard Polaris hose. They had to re-design the internal parts on the 380 to accept the added torque.

I thought you said that you had a Pentair Booster pump?

In any case, as noted, the 360 does not use a booster and you will damage the cleaner and the booster.

It looks like you have a bunch of leaks everywhere.

You should fix all leaks.

Any pump leaks will destroy the pump motors.

i think i meant a 380, they look similar, its one with black wheels (i just moved into this house, not the original owner, sorry!). and the booster pump is pentair, apologies.. I''ll get the connection leaks fixed, but will that take care of the sound? or do i also need to get the bearings replaced? Where can i do that leslies? or do it myself

The booster pump needs to be serviced or replaced, depending on how old it is and how much you can spend. If you don't know any local pool service shops, yes, Leslie's should be able to handle it. If you have never done this yourself before, probably better to let a pro do it.

The trouble with this is that removing the booster pump for repair leaves 2 plumbing hoses open and they will leak while the filter pump is running unless they are plugged. Maybe go to your local pool store and ask how long and how much repair vs. replacement would cost you in time & money.

Your best option is to get a new booster. NOT a Polaris PB4SQ. Polaris PB4-60 new ones seem to get noisy for some reason), Pentair LA01N (which is what you have). On Amazon there is a Puri Tech Uniboost that good reviews are being posted. You can get a new motor for your pump, but they are a special motor and you need a seal, body O ring, possible a new impeller.

hey 1poolman1, thanks for recommending the puri tech, i literally was planning on getting it this month to start the replacement and saw they went out of stock :( . Is there by any chance any other alternative the LA01n you can recommend? 500 seems pretty pricey? The cleaner still runs, and i'm using it sparingly, once every 2 weeks, until I get this fixed. Is there any other potential stop gaps?

This appears to be the same pump as the Uni Boost:

Like Black & Decker VSP's (re-branded Blue Torrent), it is most likely a Chinese clone that is sold under various brands. The price of booster pumps has gone crazy high like everything else pool related.

I ordered the Uniboost to replace my noisy PB4-60. It took a little re-plumbing since mine is plumbed with rigid pvc. But it's quiet and the cleaner actually works better than before. I'm sure the old motor wasn't running at top speed since the bearings were failing. But the Uniboost has a 1.5 hp motor instead of the Polaris' 3/4 hp, so maybe that's why.
