One of my (2) Jandy PLC1400 SWGs is throwing an intermittent error code of 171 and 189 (it's always both at the same time)

Error 171 - Possible Backboard service condition.
Error 189 - Relay not conducting in the forward direction. (Generates 171 code - Backboard service)

I'm guessing it's referring to the main PCB board for the SWG? The Jandy PLC1400 Operation and Installation Manual doesn't seem to list that part # from what I can tell? Anyone have any idea what the Replacement Part # is?

Thanks

It looks like it's #7 on that list, would you agree? (That document is not part of my Jandy PLC1400 Operation and Installation Manual --- thanks for finding it)

I haven't swapped the cell yet, because the troubleshooting codes states back board, and the back boards are cheaper than an entire cell replacement, so I thought I'd start there? (Seems the best choice, starting with the lower cost item first?)

If you have two of these you could swap to the other one and see if it fixes the issue. Usually it is the cell that goes out on these the electronics failing is very rare.

Had thought of that, but funny thing (or not so), my other SWG (SWG #2) is experiencing error code 123 intermittently which supposedly IS a cell issue (or power issue), so using that as a "test" is a bad idea right now. I'm going to take out SWG #2 tomorrow morning and see if it needs a light acid wash cleaning.

So I'm dealing with 2 different SWG errors right now, ughhh. Both of which are intermittent and come and go. Fun times.

Looks like the SKU R0404100 listed in that document has been discontinued. And the replacement SKU is R0467600 (Jandy AquaPure Power Interface PCB Board | R0467600) <--- that replacement SKU looks exactly like my PCB when I take my PLC1400 box apart. I guess I'll purchase one and give it a try...

FYI, for future reference with searching, the 171 and 189 codes, the service light and codes -seem- to be gone now (3 days) after replacing the back PCB board. Fingers crossed it continues.
