Jandy FloPro VS 2.7 pump replacement options

Ahhhh, ok, I think I was starting to come to that realization while reading more about that pumps features. So if I'm correct the pump below would work for my situation, though it's a 3hp rather than 2.7 which it will be replacing. I certainly hope this pump will work as it gets outstanding reviews and is much more affordable than a Jandy FloPro VS 2.7.

I have this exact pump and it works well with iAquaLink. As stated, just set it as the VS version.

The Aqualink will only control the VS RPM features of the 011056 pump. The Aqualink cannot access the VF GPM features.

Note that Pentair says the 011056 pump is now obsolete and may be difficult to find. If you can pickup one then do it. Otherwise look at the InetlliFlo3 pump.

3HP versus 2.7 HP makes no real difference.
Do you happen to know for sure if the IntellliFlo3 can be controlled by the Aqualink system? I wasn't able to find the older version so had to get the 3 (011075) and so far I haven't had any luck getting the Aqualink to control it.

It's not the end of the world as I can still control the new pump via the Pentair app but it would be nice to have it work with my Aqualink system.

It's a really nice pump, super quiet and really nice that it has built in bluetooth & wifi.

The iAquaLink only states ePump (Jandy), IntelliFlo VS and IntelliFlo VF. Pick IntelliFlo VS.
On the RS485, ensure you have the 2 wires correctly connected to the RED connector on the PCB.
see photo
The VS Pump RS485 connection is on the right - just the Green & Yellow wire.

So, the problem I'm having is that the 'old' Intelliflo's that are known to work require the cable that plugs into the pump and has the yellow/green wires to be wired into the Aqualink per the pic in the previous post. The Intelliflo 3 that I have doesn't have the socket for that connecting cable, rather, it has a 4 terminal connection per the pic below (which looks just like the 4 terminal connection on the Aqualink end.

I also stumbled onto the comment below in another thread that has me wondering if I just have the RS-485 wires hooked up incorrectly.

You are correct.

You need to match up section 3.3.4 in the Aqualink manual...

with 3.3.3...

Which leads you to conclude that Pentair yellow wire goes to screw 2 Aqualink BLK and Pentair Green wire goes to Aqualink screw 3 YEL.

And the Aqualink connection from the IntelliFlo pump looks like...

The new Intelliflo3 pump dispenses with that connector, you can use any 2 conductor wire to connect it to the panel. On the Aqualink pin 2 is DATA+ and pin 3 is DATA- so connect to the pump connector accordingly.

I think the piece of info I'm still missing is how to hook up the wires on the pump end since I don't have that 7 pin plug that's on the old pumps and referred to in the pics above. Or am I missing something?

You have that right here. Pentair yellow DATA+ to Aqualink BLK and green DATA- to Aqualink YEL...

Ok, I've tried connecting them both ways and still nothing, now I'm wondering if the firmware has changed on the Intelliflo 3 so that it no longer works with Aqualink. I've selected Intelliflo VS in the web section of the app as well, not sure what else there is to try at this point.

Post pics of both sides of the correct connection.

The Intelliflo3 is a new pump but I'd be surprised if the serial protocol is different from the older Intelliflo 011056. We have another member using it with an older EasyTouch system without any issues. The only thing I can suggest is to use the red/black wire pair (instead of yellow/green) at both ends to see if it's a cabling issue.

I had the power off when I made the connections but I cut power again last night just to be on the safe side and it's still not being recognized by Aqualink.
I am just wondering if you should connect all 4 wires on both the pump and the RED connector. I don't know enough about the new IntelliFlo3 pump if that would cause an issue. I assume you have read through the pump manual.
Alternatively, have you tried to call Pentair tech support and ask them if any change in the RS485 protocol between the old IntelliFlo and the new IntelliFlo3 to be used with AquaLink.

According to this post it's not needed.
Thanks. I remembered that but it was working on a Pentair ET and this is a Jandy Automation - so just considering all options. But I agree, it may be best for the OP to change out the wire completely or double check the connection on both pump and RED connector to ensure the wire is seated properly.

Apologies, been tied up for several days and couldn't spend any time on this issue.

So, I noticed that after I'd wired the pump to the Aqualink RS per earlier posts that I could no longer connect to the system using the mobile app. Upon reconnecting the wires in the RS the app works again. I don't know if this is normal behavior but thought it was interesting since it seems those terminals are the correct place to connect the pump per many in this thread. At this point I'm really left scratching my head on this one.
