It's awful. Georgia clay. Yuck. It gets on EVERYTHING, and stains.Dang that dirt is RED!!
I'm going out this morning when sun comes up to check, and take more pics. They are coming back tomorrow for the forms, Thursday concrete for walls gets poured. I've been through a build before, unfortunately it looks like I will have a lot more sod needed. didnt expect that. Up north, all I did was throw seed down. Here? Dang Bermuda grass, gonna need sod. Let the budget be blown!!!! Guess I am un retiringLet the MESS begin............forget about mud that stuff is SLICK asand stains so bad that bleach cannot touch it!
Now here is your first job! Run out with the plans and measure it! NOW is the time to fix or tweak as wanted/needed.
That Bermuda grass should bounce right back with overseed. My lawn is infested with it and it’s hard to make it go away.I'm going out this morning when sun comes up to check, and take more pics. I could overseed Bermuda, but the seed is common Bermuda, which is coarse and ugly. I currently have TifTuf, which is nice, and fine. That Bermuda grass should bounce right back with overseed. My lawn is infested with it and it’s hard to make it go away.
Ah. That’s probably what I got spreading around here. Trying to get rid of it.I could overseed Bermuda, but the seed is common Bermuda, which is coarse and ugly. I currently have TifTuf, which is nice, and fine.
Unfortunately Bermuda is more like a weed. Hard to get rid of.Ah. That’s probably what I got spreading around here. Trying to get rid of it.
Fortunately, we have the patio out back.About the time I was sick of the dirt being tracked in the house. Well. A month after I was sick of it. A neighbor threw out an area rug and I promptly free cycled it.

Never underestimate the dirt.Fortunately, we have the patio out back.
There is a 2 foot wall along back of pool, because of slope. With the backfilling after walls are poured, and regrading behind the wall, most if not all the dirt should be gone.So they excavated but didn’t haul the dirt away? I understand keeping some of it for fill but now you have a mountain of dirt in the yard.
No dogs or kids thankfully. I do have a cat though, already looking to jump in the hole

Definitely not a bad idea. The pool builder has been here for the estimate, the dig plans, the dig, and will be here for the forms tomorrow, and the pour on Thursday. She's been great. No matter how many pools someone has built I try to remind to measure and such just in case someone news see the build OR just in the PO forgets.
I can speak from experience. Prior to our dig they came out and marked everything with stakes and paint but it didn't look right to us. So we measured it when we got home and discovered it was 2 feet narrower and 2 feet shorter than our final design. It turns out they submitted the wrong dimensions to the county for the permit so they had to proceed with a 'planned dig' of that size while they worked with the county to revise the plans. And that's how our project started... I can't say it got better from there. I'm just glad it's over.No matter how many pools someone has built I try to remind to measure and such just in case someone news see the build OR just in the PO forgets.
