What is the going rate for having the expansion joint caulked? Mine has never been done and I am thinking of getting it done. I may do it myself if it is too much. What do you use "deck-o-seal"?

I am also ready to get my pool done as well. Thinking of doing it in the spring. It's been two seasons since it was built, so I assume it has settled enough. My styrofoam filler is still intact. The end of this past summer I received an email from my PB offering to do it for a "special" $1000. I didn't want it done then, and then go into winter. Why have it exposed for an extra winter. I did not reply to them, so I don't know if it will still be the same price this spring.

I would also like to see if it can be easily done myself as well. I have appoximately 114 liner feet of perimeter. How is the amount needed calculated, and what would the cost of materials needed to do it be? Then, once I have those numbers, I could compare doing it myself or having someone else do it, and see if it is worth having someone do it.

Is it as simple as caulking? Once the top perforation of the styrofoam is removed, does the "deck-o-seal" or "mastic" fill the void nicely, or does it have to be worked in? Obviously, it needs to look good when finished, so if DIY, I'm gonna have to do some research first.

I will probably attempt to do it myself. I have heard between $10-$15/foot to have it installed. I doubt it is that hard. I will use the below. They have that and they have a product that is 2 part and needs to be mixed. According to the below chart I need like 5 tubes of it. They recommend putting the tubular foam in the slot first. It is self-leveling and fills whatever voids you have. I will probably use blue painter's tape on both sides of the joint to ensure a clean installation.

It's like $40/tube.
