Thanks - that link does show that vinegar is "better" than muriatic which is what I was looking for.
This is more for my tri-sensor. I am getting sporadic/inconsistent salt level readings from 3200 - 4100. I want to clean the sensor and see if that clears it up. I was just going to throw it in a bucket of vinegar. I hate to mess with muriatic unless necessary.

If the scale is stubborn then use cleaning vinegar (6% acetic acid … available in Home Depot). It’s milder than Muriatic Acid and won’t damage the ruthenium surface. Highly concentrated mineral acids are not good for the transition metal catalysts.
