I have 1/2" PVC running from my house to my pool's auto filler. There is a vacuum breaker in-line in the PVC upstream from the valve (a regular PVC ball valve) to shut off the auto-fill. From reading online, it sounds like an AVB should not be subjected to constant pressure. Recently the breaker started failing and dripping water. My first instinct was to replace the o-rings or gaskets in it, but now I'm not sure it's needed, or that it's installed correctly. Does anyone with more plumbing knowledge than I know what I should do?
