alternatives to replaster

I have had my plaster pool going on 18 years now and don't expect to replaster for at least another 5 years. What is happening to your plaster pool where it is only lasting 8-10 years.

BTW, staining can be repaired.

Warranty is 10 years like most plaster finishes:

Plus it is prorated.

If it was that much better, they would have a longer warranty.

The only thing it probably does have over plaster is it will be more inert to chemistry mismanagement. This is what usually ages plaster pools pre-maturely.

This is why they think it is eco-friendly:

EcoFinish is an eco-friendly pool finish that is safe and sustainable. It is environmentally friendly because it:
  • Requires fewer chemicals to maintain balanced water chemistry
  • Reduces waste associated with plaster and paint
  • Uses no heavy trucks or equipment to transport, reducing fossil fuel use
  • Produces little to no waste during installation
  • Completely seals the pool interior, reducing water loss
  • Contains no solvents
  • Contains no harmful VOCs or other toxic substances
  • Greatly reduces the use of chemicals to balance pH
EcoFinish is also suitable for resurfacing and restoring older projects including concrete, steel, and hybrids.

But the coating is a polymer which doesn't seem all that "ECO" to me.
