Aerator using cover pump

Aeration will raise your pH. It will not help burn off chlorine.

What is your FC level and CYA level?

Any FC level up to SLAM FC for your CYA is safe to swim in. See...

CYA is 60 FC is hard to read. I stop count at 30 drops

W/ a 25ml sample every drop counts as 0.2 fc.
0.2x 30 drops = 6ppm fc
with a cya of 60ppm that is just shy of target 🎯 range & barely above minimum
FC/CYA Levels
If u wish, you can save reagent by using a 10ml sample & every drop counts as 0.5

It was actually 71 drops at 10ml line. So calculated 35.5ppm (71x.5) whoa!!!

CYA is hanging around 75

There are no inbetweens w/ cya (always round up) so anywhere between 70 & 80 counts as 80
The corresponding slam level is 31ppm so its not too terribly high & will come down.
Your cya is quite high for a manually chlorinated pool -
How are u chlorinating? Is there a reason you added so much chlorine?

Long story as to why I added so much chlorine but in a nutt shell …my pool wouldnt clear for nothing and every bit of chlorine I added was getting consumed. I did use floc and that helped me see the bottom and I was able to vacuum the floc twice. The next morning it turned green with only 1ppm of FC! Out of frustration and not clearly thinking I dump a 12gal (10%) of chlorine in.

Needless to say the pool water is clear now…but my chlorine level is at the 35ppm. The pool is well shaded outside of 11-3pm. I left the cover off trying to burn as much as I can with the sun.

To truly eradicate the algae you need to do the SLAM Process to completion.
This is more than a once or twice addition of liquid chlorine. It’s reaching Shock Level And Maintaining that until u pass ALL 3 end of slam criteria.
After completion of SLAM you would then maintain target 🎯 fc levels for your cya to ensure algae doesn’t happen again. With such a high cya this can be a bit difficult & expensive to do. Exchanging 40-50% of your water with fresh to lower the cya would be preferable.
Also discontinuing use of stabilized chlorine products or it will be unmanageable again quickly.

U can - as mentioned in your other thread SLAM Process fc level for your cya is 31ppm. If u are having an algae problem you should maintain that fc level until u pass all 3 end of slam criteria as listed in the linked article.
Scrub any algae hiding spots too - like light niches, skimmer throats, ladders etc.
