Hi Everyone, our pool quest continues...Has anyone had experience with all Resin uprights in a cold climate? We live in Illinois and have some pretty harsh winters. Wondering if if steel or Resin is the way to go?
We only got it this year (used) but it is 8-10 years old. Ours is all resin frame with aluminum wall. The only damage to the frame was where a tree root had grown up through on of the holes in the wall base and expended it - once I cut the root out the expended hole actually returned to almost it's original size. The wall was in perfect shape. There was a real trick to installing the liner and top caps with their unique connection system but I don't know if they still use that system or not (top caps overlap at each upright and sit right on the wall/liner (there is no clip over the liner) and then plastic pegs get inserted and twisted to connect the 2 sections of top cap).
