This is my third year owning a pool (vinyl, 20k gallon, swg). Live in Central PA so we close the pool for winter with a loop loc cover.
Last year the cartridge filter gave up so I replaced it with a DE filter.
Every year so far I re-learn new lessons and make different mistakes.
I learned about SLAM last year while trying to fix a big algae bloom when we opened and unfortunately forgot what I was supposed to do until after I went to the pool store. I remembered I shouldn't buy algaecide but got duped into buy it again.
I'm going to post about my startup and ask advice in the Algae forum
