Welkom Tom! Nice to have another Belgian! I'm from West-Vlaanderen and moved to the US in the late 90s. You've just stumbled upon an amazing resource.

A Houston Pool Build Inside the Loop

Your patio is beautiful and the line dividing the new section from the old looks very natural. It's been an amazing year and we've been swimming throughout the winter! I've decided that 65F is about as cold as I can stand..and only when the sun is out :-) The pool has been around 77F all week...

New pool build in Houston, TX

Denise, We used light walnut honed travertine tiles for the waterline. At first, I was hesitant to use a natural stone in the water, but our PB has been using it successfully for a long time here in Houston. We looked at porcelain tiles that looked like travertine but the real stone ended up...

I remember your beautiful pool. It inspired us when we designed our own project. Glad you're still enjoying your 'little' pool :)

    Pool Remodel in Jacksonville, FL

The glass tile is beautiful. We used NPT's Arctic Lagoon tile. My only regret is not having more of it or going with LightStream. Both your Blue Steel and Suz's Peacock tile are amazing. Can't wait to see pictures with water.

Hello from an excited Newbie in Bixby Oklahoma!!

We also have an easement in the back, and we wanted the largest pool possible in the space we had available. Our designs ended up being rectangular. All PBs we interviewed mentioned that pricing is based on perimeter linear feet (LF). The gunite company here charges dramatically more once 115LF...

Spa or no spa? If yes, raised or flush?

Our spa is level with the pool and this is not an issue. Anything that ends up in the spa immediately goes into the pool because the spa acts like a giant skimmer. The spa is always clean.

A Houston Pool Build Inside the Loop

We love our in floor system (PCC2000). It doesn't run that much for the energy cost to be an issue, but it keeps the pool clean. No robots to deal with, and I love being able to mix the water quickly after adding chemicals. It also keeps the water at a uniform temperature throughout the pool.

    New Build In Simi Valley

Ours is 38" from floor to waterline, and the benches are 18" and 21" to the waterline. We don't have a step. To decide on our bench depths, we had our family members sit on a chair and we used a measuring tape to determine where the waterline would reach.
