Wood Fired Swimming Pool Heaters

I live in the woods in northeast MA and have plenty of wood. I am thinking of a wood fired swimming pool heater. I have a propane heater. But the price of propane and electricity these days is ridiculous.

Pool is inground 20x40 approx. 30k gallons. I have a solar cover as well.

Does anyone have any experience or familiarity with the below brands? Or does anyone want to share their experiences with wood fired heater?

Any insight is appreciated.

Matt

There are a few of us (not me) that have tried the wood burning route. Search for "wood burning heater" in the TFP search bar. Not a lot of success.

To produce 400,000 btu it will require burning 57 pounds of wood per hour. You are going to need a lot of wood.

I have a 2 inch gas line to feed my 360,000 btu heater, and it still only raises the temp by 1 or 2 degrees per hour in my 30K pool. You would need a very big burner and you will burn a forest trying to heat a 30,000 gallon pool. To raise it by 10 degrees wil take 2,880,000 btu. That will require burning about 500 pounds of wood. Of course that assumes perfect heat transfer and no heat loss what so ever from the pool.

@duraleigh is one of those that have tried it...
