Why would clogged filters trip fuse? Would this damage hot tub parts? Likely which part?

I have a Marquis Silver Anniversary Euphoria hot tub that's like 15 years old. The fuse was getting tripped and I replaced the filters and it stopped tripping the fuse. I realized I had not changed or cleaned the filters for like 3-6 months ( I realize this was a dumb mistake).

Why do you think the fuse was getting tripped in this scenario of the filters being clogged?

Did this likely damage any parts in the hot tub? If so, what part would you guess could get damaged?

The tub is heating up but it seems slower than normal. If the heater got damaged, would it likely heat up SLOWER or would it likely just WORK or NOT work?

Thank you, Doug

Tripping fuse or circuit breaker?

What circuit breaker is being tripped?

Starving a pump causes it to run hot and draw more amps, both of which can blow a fuse, especially in the control box.
The damage would be to the motor directly, but could indirectly damage the heater, sensors, or board from short-cycling and OH errors caused by low flow.

but it seems slower
It's probably not. Heater output is determined by voltage and resistance. Short-cycling and errors can slow things down, but you can see those happening.
