What if it rains while making my sand base?

Hey all! I have all my pavers in and level so I am about ready to put the wall up and then get onto the sand base. I'm in Ohio and this time of year it is common for short thunderstorms to pop up out of nowhere. I know to spray the sand as I get it leveled out and tamped and keep it damp so compaction is good, but what if one of those t-storms hits while I'm working on the sand base and it gets soaked? Do I have to let it dry out before continuing or just keep on going? Thank you

I suspect you'll know if/when it happens. If it's a relatively light or steady rain that simply compacts the sand evenly, it may be fine. If it's a torrential downpour that washes-out your work or makes the soil underneath too soft, you'll have to re-group a bit. If the sand is extremely wet, you'll probably just make a mess of things and will need to give it time to dry-out. Good luck on your install and with weatherman predictions. :)
