I bought a house that has an Easytouch Control System wireless control panel Model 520546-520547. The pool control panel has an antenna MobileTouch II Controller marked PCB Assy 520946. Evidently the previous owner kept some devices to enable ScreenLogic to work on my Microsoft PC and my iPhone and IPad.

So...what would I need? ONLY the

520500 Pentair 520489 ScreenLogic 2 Wireless Interface - $389

or ALSO the

523434 Pentair ScreenLogic 2 Wireless Connection Kit 523596 522620 523604 - $299

Thanks!

jk,

I am unsure what it is you have for sure..

There is a big difference in having Pentair remotes, wired or wireless, and ScreenLogic. Two very different systems.

Wired Remotes obviously are attached to the EasyTouch with a 4 wire cable.

Wireless Remotes have an 'egg' looking device which links the EasyTouch directly to the wireless remotes.

ScreenLogic has no remotes and uses your PC, tablet or phone as a remote. It also has its own 'egg' at the EasyTouch which talks with another Transceiver inside the house. The Transceiver inside the house is then connected to a Protocol Adapter, which is connected to your in-house network.. Although not advisable, the Protocol Adapter can be hard-wired instead of using the Wireless links.

Take several pics of what you currently have and we can get you pointed in the right direction.

Thanks,

Jim R.

You need the model # from the wiring diagram on the door of the ET. A good picture of the front of the ET system and if your not afraid of opening the the lower half of the ET to expose the wiring area as there's a few upgrades depending what you have. Im not the expert but have been inquiring for a client sinilar.

jk,

I don't see any signs that the system had a ScreenLogic system?

Sorry, when I said I wanted pics, I meant what pool equipment that was left in the house.. Like Remotes, transceivers, anything related to ScreenLogic..

What makes you think the previous owner had ScreenLogic?

Thanks,

Jim R.

The pool service person thought that the prior owner was using it. Here’s pictures of the controller. I will contact former owner and ask. If he never had ScreenLogic then my question is going to be what’s the equipment needed to enable it. Thanks!IMG_3022.jpegIMG_3023.jpeg

Remove the Mobile Touch 2 antenna, install the 523434 kit. You will use your phone/tablet/computer as the interface.
At that price, hurry as they are usually in the $700 range. Sometimes the install is very "finicky."
Remember that the Easy Touch is now an obsolete system that Pentair no longer supports. They make an upgrade kit to make it into an Intellicenter that is an easy install, though it does cost more.

jk,

To use ScreenLogic you will need to have a wireless kit with the Protocol Adapter.. Normally P/N 522104..

The wireless kits are useless unless you have the Protocol Adapter.

For about $1100 dollars you can convert your EasyTouch into an IntelliCenter with Wi-Fi capability.. but... then you will have to go through the learning curve of a new system.

Sometime it is better to use the beast you know, vs. an unknown beast..

Thanks,

Jim R.
