Water Storage

Wasn't sure where else to put this. We are replacing the pool after this season. It's almost a year away but I'm already thinking about it. I am wondering if it's worth trying to store all or at least some of the water. Things that I think are relevant.

1. I am on a well. the well has had no problems filling the current 17,500 pool, once completely and maybe 3000 or so gallons every spring.
2. it would be easiest to store the water in the current pool over the winter and just take the pool down in the early spring, but the cover was worn out enough that it's gone now and the replacement pool will be smaller so I'd rather not spend the money on a new cover.
3. current pool is about 17,000 gallons, replacement is 11,500 or thereabouts

I haven't checked with any water companies to see if they have a tank that's large enough or even what the cost is.
Is this worth attempting?

I doubt it is worth attempting.

Do a search on "water storage bladder" and you will see prices and sizes. You can probably buy a cheap 10,000+ gallon above ground pool and erect it for storage if you have a level area.

Compare those costs with the cost to hire water trucks to being fresh water in which may cost you $500 for 5,000 - 7,000 gallons.
