Water Calculation for Hot Tub

Hi Everyone,
Hope youre doing great today

Wanted to make sure I understand the calculation for how much water the spa holds.

It is 81 (L) x 63 (w) x 33 (D) / 231? Not sure where or why it is divided by 231. Is it always divided by 231 and where does that number come from?

If true, is the amount of water the spa holds: 729 gallons?

The owners manual gallons label says 265. Not sure what that number is either?

They are nearly impossible to calculate with the seats and benches. But we can guess if we have to and use chemistry to fine tune it.

Never heard this one either and the math does not check out as you can see.

That's most likely the full to the brim gallons, which seems right for a 5ft wide spa. Subtract a few inches worth and it's about 245. We will know after a couple doses of chems if it should be tweaked any.

I found the above noted calculation as one of the responses on another forum topic of someone trying to calculate their water.
If I used this without asking, we would have been floating...LOL
We will go with 245 and tweak as needed
