Wago Lever-Nuts vs Wire nuts

If you have money to spend, why not. I replaced thousands of light ballasts at past jobs. We always just cut off these gimmicky connectors and used wire nuts from the huge bucket purchased in bulk. The “lumi-nuts” are nice for future repairs so you don’t have to shut off power to an area for 1 bad ballast.

They are approved but they are also pricey…
25 for $20 assorted sized connectors for specific applications
Vs 100 red wire nuts for $13 that have a variety of applications.
I can see a homeowner using them here & there or maybe in a commercial setting like a server room or fire alarm room but in general construction installations nope 👎🏻
I’ll be sticking w/ my cheap & cheerful wire nuts.
In general the connection with a wirenut isn’t supposed to be dependent upon the wirenut.
The tight twist of the wires is what provides the connection. The wirenut is there to ensure it doesn’t come loose & protect the uninsulated connection.
These wago connectors rely on a bar to connect each one with small contact points throughout. I look at them and see the potential for heat…
I don’t want that closed up in my wall personally.
I also have fat arthritic fingers so the little levers are a tad cumbersome.
It is a niche product.
