my pool liner created a leak after its last cleaning. It is a 16x24 expandable liner. its about 11 years old. It has leaked all the way down to the expandable part of the liner. I have went around the water line and did not see or feel anything there. I marked the area today to see if it continues to leak. Recommendations on finding the hole with the remaining water still in it.

Usually if a liner has a leak it continues to lose water until just under the damage. It can be almost a pin prick sized hole.
Have you checked around the equipment for wet spots in case the leak is actually there?? Or in the yard...a wet spot in the ground?? A pipe break may be the culprit?

Worse case is you need a new liner.... 11 years is a pretty good run, but many who follow TFP chemistry find liners can last longer.
