I hope this question is not out of the realm of this group. We had our pool remodeled recently. Our PB put in a sun ledge with 2 bubblers and 1 umbrella sleeve between the 2 bubblers. I bought an umbrella and it easily went into the sleeve. The problem is the sleeve goes deep! It’s 15.5” deep from the surface into the ledge. Now my umbrella is 88” tall but the fabric and metal things in the umbrella are 45” from top down. The umbrella has a crank to put it up. Because this sits just inches from the steps to enter or exit the pool, the umbrella sits much too low. I have to lean way down to crank the umbrella up and once up if anyone needs in or out of the pool I have to do it again. I’m not young and this is taking a toll…lol. What I am wondering is how much of the umbrella pole needs to sit in concrete? Ours sits 15.5” in, which is why our umbrella sits so short and causes these problems. If it could sit at a shallower depth, maybe 10”? Could we possibly put rocks in it to keep the umbrella pole from going so far into the pvc sleeve? It’s just pvc, it has no cap and it is slightly bigger than 1.5” diameter. Our umbrella is 1.5” diameter and it fits fairly well but has a tiny bit of a lean, not enough to bother us, just trying to give measurements. Anybody have any ideas? We never leave the umbrella up, always put it down and tie it when we leave the pool.
