Umbrella ideas for baja shelf - fiberglass pole?

Use aluminum, it’s lighter. It won’t last as long but it’s cheaper than fiberglass. FG tends to breakdown from the sun and it will start to shed after a while. Aluminum is compatible with pool water and won’t rust. It may develop a white scale from chloride exposure but it is harmless to the water.

I buy cheapo $30 aluminum umbrellas from Walmart or Ace. They last a few seasons and then I toss them and get new ones.

Thanks... any particular alumium models to recommend at Ace, HD, Lowe's, Amz, etc? Have had mixed results in the past for quality with a little wind.

I just buy whatever is cheapest.

If you can find them online, rubber umbrella cups help to make a tight fit into the sleeve. I got mine on Amazon but they are currently unavailable now.

Rubber cup like this to get it snug in the baja shelf hole?
