TSP substitute and muriatic acid

Don’t soak them in acid unless it’s absolutely necessary and you can confirm there’s calcium scaling in the fabric. DE fabric almost never needs to be acid soaked and it can cause more damage than good. It’s also dangerous to handle large volumes of acids.

More often than not, if you need to clean the fabric, simply soaking it in a solution of powdered dishwashing detergent (Cascade) and water will do the trick. TSP works fine too but only if it’s real TSP and if you can find locally … it’s banned for retail sale in a lot of states.
