I don’t want spa coping hitting my back or head (depending on bench height) so for comfort we are looking at doing a rolled edge tile into coping. See pic for an example except ours is a square spa. My PB said he’s concerned about people slipping and hitting their head as they step onto the tile edge as they enter the spa. He says we’ll need to sign a liability waiver for his insurance. Can anyone with this spa detail share their experience? Open to other input as well.

I’m doing rolled edge. I’ll post picks with it tiled next week. Hopefully. Fingers crossed. No mention of liability issues or slipping issues. Mine will be raised about a foot above the pool but part is also level with the decking.

They are beautiful, I have never seen one like this..

Tell the pool builder and his employees to not stand on the edge in the spa so his insurance will not be liable.. Once it is built it is your insurance and there are no issues :)

Thanks all for the input. We’re going all in on the rolled edge now. I will post pictures after we’re done (30 days or so).

Funny to see the impact of overly litigious California environment even on the pool industry. All you in the South must be scratching your heads on my PB’s liability concerns :D.

My PB is starting my tile today. They are actually just now starting and they are doing my roller beam first. I’ll post pictures of it when it’s done.
