New pool owner (bought house with pool this year). You all have been extremely helpful the whole way. I know what the "official" answer to this will be (be safe dont swim), but am curious how bad you think it is. Some background

Pump has been out since Wed - I am on day 5 without the pump. I use BBB method. Been able to keep levels very consistent, current levels are

FC 7
CC 0.5
CYA 50
TA 70
PH 7.4

I ordered a replacement which will be installed in 4 days. Been checking levels and adding bleach and brushing every day. Chemistry has been fine and the pool looks fine. Not as crystal clear as usual, but I joke with my wife that it's still probably cleaner than other pools we swim in (public, friends, etc)

I have been avoiding going in the pool while the pump/filter is out. But it's killing me as it is perfect pool weather right now and I'm on the verge of throwing caution to the wind and diving in. But since I'm so new to this whole thing I thought it would be wise to bounce the idea off of the experts. Would you let me know your thoughts on me taking a couple of quick dips over the next 4 days. I wouldn't be having a party or anything, just a splash to cool down.

Let's say a scale of 1 to 10. 10 is "You're crazy, no way" and 1 is "So it's a little dirty, you've probably swam in much worse"

Thanks

Ron

Go swim and enjoy the pool. The splashing around will give the water some needed circulation.

It’s a perfect pool day in the Northeast.

Awesome. Thanks for the responses. Yes, pool is still very clear, see bottom no problem, just could use some skimmer time and a good vacuuming. I'll be sure to be on top of the levels and look for signs of an "outbreak" :)
