Superflow vs Whisperflow pump

I need to replace a whisperflow 1 hp pump that only services my waterflow and slide. Will a 1 hp Superflow pump work as well?

The Whisperflo is a 2" pump and the SuperFlo is a 1.5" pump.

I believe that the Whisperflo moves more water.. but that does not mean the SuperFlo won't work..

Does the current pump have a volume valve or does it just run full blast?

Does the waterfall have too much flow now?

Can't get a 1hp "anything" in a single-speed pool pump or motor in California. How is the waterfall/slide pump controlled? You can get a variable-speed motor that will work even if set to one speed only.
