I found a pool on walmart.com that feels like a pretty good deal. I realize I'll want/need to upgrade the filter and whatnot, but as a first AGP, does $500 seem decent for what you get? Anyone have this? Reasons I should stay away?

Those are certainly popular models and we've seen a lot of posts here on the forum. For your first pool, probably not a bad idea to get you acquainted with the pool ownership process. The water testing will be most important. Be sure to use a TF-Series test kit (link in my signature) or Taylor K-2006C. That will make all the difference.
