Step up to pool deck

I've seen a few here, but not many. I'm trying to remember whose pool has that.....?
Are you looking to build a pool but have an upwards slope? What type of pool? Pics of the land are helpful.

We have a pool that we just finished, you just step basically one step up to pool deck. We have to do it this way for water run of yards surrounding us. But, it gives me a ton of anxiety and the more I look at other pools I see this is not a common thing. Then I question if we should’ve done something else. 😭

We had a relatively large hill to deal with, as well as an existing patio, so we were going to have multiple levels to deal with regardless. We elected to do a stacked stone wall around the majority of the pool, with stairs up to an elevated back deck that provides entrance/exit points. We're nearing completion, but I love how it turned out. It rolls with our existing landscape, provides visual interest, prevents runoff into the pool, and we have a giant bench around the entire pool.
