Sta-Rite Max-E-Therm 400 heater shuts off st 86 with e06 message

• Always!! Turn off the pump when changing the backwash valve positions!!
• Always turn the MPV handle in one direction. Not back and forth or you will tear the spider gasket.
• Be careful that you do not drain water below your skimmer intake. Put a fill water hose in your pool if you do not have an auto fill line.

To backwash the filter...

1. Turn the pump off.
2. Turn the multiport to "backwash" and restart the pump, watch the view-glass or the end of the discharge hose to see when the backwashed water becomes ~clear - 30 seconds to 1 minute.
3. Turn off the pump
4. When it is fairly clear, turn the multi to "rinse"
5. Turn on the pump for 30 seconds,
6. Turn off the pump
7. Repeat 2-6 two more times
8. Turn the handle to FILTER
9. Turn on the pump
10. Record what your filter pressure is as your clean PSI. You should backwash the filter anytime the PSI rises 25% from the clean pressure.

Just tested my old sfs and multimeter reading was 2.52 does it mean it's a good sensor?

That is usually a bad O ring in the handle valve stem.

It takes a bit of work to disassemble the handle and top to replace the 50 cent part.
