Spa therapy jet height

Hi

My BP has set the centres of the spa therapy jets 10” above the seat on one side and 12” on the other. Are these too high as I was expecting them at maybe 8”.

I’d be interested to know what heights others have set them.

Is your gunite in place already?

Regarding if the jets are too high, it is a matter of personal preference. As far as I know, there is no code or anything that would set the height. I would think generally a PB would try to place them in the center of the vertical area. But I am sure they would place them at whatever height is requested, as long as it works out with the gunite and overall design.

Almost everything about pools is a matter of personal preference/opinion. You should make sure to discuss all of your expectations with your PB prior to any work being done so you are not disappointed. From what I have seen on here, PB's build how they have always done it or how they would prefer it, unless you have clearly expressed otherwise to them.

Yes it’s a gunite spa not yet been sprayed, so there is an opportunity to lower if needed.

Sit on a chair and feel where 10" and 12" falls on your back.

I prefer spa jets massage down above the small of my back then up by my shoulders.

My spa is still closed so I can not measure where my spa jets fall.

Just remember there will be several inches of gunite, on top of the rebar to get the jet height from the bench. I would ask your PB how much to allow for that.

I just measured mine and they are 8" to center of the jet, from the top of the bench. I don't recall where that hits my back, but I don't remember thinking that it was too high, so probably just around the small of my back.

My builder had myself and my wife sit in a chair and take measurements. We have four jets per person, my bottom jets are 4” from the seat and my top jets are 18” above the bottom ones. My wife’s are 6”, on the bottom and 12” above. I’m 6’-2” and she is 5’-5”. We also used a piece of plywood with a cushion on it to double check before the gunite process.
