I have been purchasing calcium hardness increaser in 4-lb. bags. I am curious if anyone has a lead as to where I might get it in larger quantities (& hopefully at a lower price). Thank you.
This is the one chemical I buy at the p@@l st@re. Yeah, I said it. The price is a *bit* higher, but I know I'm getting good stuff, without contaminants.
After looking at various ice-melt products and the reviews mentioning various additives, I bit the bullet and ordered a bunch of the Robelle product from Home Depot:
Robelle Calcium Plus is used to raise calcium hardness levels when measures drop below the recommended range of 200-400 ppm. If calcium hardness levels are too low the "soft water" will corrode pool equipment,

They had to order it and it took a week or two to arrive, but it worked great.

I check my pool chemical's makeup carefully so I know I'm not putting in something unexpected. My local Ace Hardware has 25lb buckets of pool-grade O-ACE-sis granular calcium chloride in stock for $60. Not the least expensive shown here, but the MSDS shows it has a high minimum concentration of 94% CaCl with no other ingredients listed.
