Hello all,
I’ve searched around on here and haven’t came across this solution.
We are getting our first real winter snow here since years and have a solid pool cover. First time dealing with 6+ inches of snow on the cover.
Has anyone used a rubber or paddle style snow blower on a pool cover vs hand shoveling.
Could you spread pool salt down on the cover before storms like these to help melt the snow? We currently have a chlorine pool but plan on switching the saltwater this season anyways. Any cons to doing this will salt ruin the solid cover?
We lower the water past returns and don’t refill till we open so it has no water to “rest on”
I’ve seen some people put bladders or ballon type in the pool to let the cover rest on.
But ideally looking to get others inputs and what they have found best works for them and hopefully this helps others down the road in same position too.
Will a paddle style snow blower ruin the cover? I’m assuming the bristle style can’t be used for it. And leaf blower isn’t strong enough to blow it off have already tried that with no luck.
Heated strips or tarps to lay over the cover to help melt the snow and set the pumps on top of that?
Any help or input would be great!
Thank you!
