If you need to raise pH, always do aeration first. Usually hot tubs have an issue with too high of a pH, not too low of one due to lots of aeration. Turn on both your pumps and open all the air valves. Check pH every 15 minutes. If it doesn't budge after 15 minutes of this, you'll likely need more TA. At this point you can add washing soda to raise pH and TA, or at baking soda to raise TA and then run jets with all air valves open again.
What is your TA? This determines how fast the pH will rise with aeration.
