Any tips or advice on how to go about building or laying out a small deck just to attach ladder to and have steps to enter to pool.
I would incorporate a gate that is lockable as well.
Current ladder is wobble and I'd like to have more secure way to mount ladder.
I was thinking something 4 feet wide and atleast 2 to 3 feet launch pad then steps.
Not sure If my current ladder can be configured to mount to a deck or not.
Thank you

There are a lot of videos on YouTube where people have done exactly what you describe. The ones I’ve seen that allow use of the ladder that came with the pool seem to either leave enough of a gap between the pool and deck to accommodate the ladder, or build the deck high enough to overhang the wall a bit, but still allow the ladder to fit in between.

Personally, I’d rather build proper deck and get steps that can be attached. I would think it would be a lot easier to detach and remove them when needed.

Sorry you haven’t gotten anymore replies. Did you take a look at YouTube?

Can you share photos of the area in question?

I recently rebuilt a small deck at my house. Different than what you're describing. Mine is attached to my foundation. What you're doing is freestanding. Completely different engineering.

Anyway, I found decks.com to be a tremendous resource. Lots of how to articles for every step. Calculators for things like footer depths, joist spans, ect. Full on plans you can download. Everything I used in planning / building my deck was free.

I built one using two sets of stringers and a couple of two by eights for my steps and then attached it to a 4‘ x 2‘ deck using two by eights, two by sixes, and four posts. It helps protect the filter underneath it and gives me a small landing area to get in and out of the pool. I have a ladder that has the deck mount attachment.
As far as ease of build, I watched a couple YouTube videos to get a bare bones idea of a foundation and then I just kind of winged it. I will say that as a single female I built it and moved it into place completely by myself, point being it stupid easy lol
